DUKUNG PULAU KOMODO

Setelah menyisihkan sekitar 440 nominator dari 220 negara termasuk Indonesia, Pulau Komodo berhasil melaju ke babak ketiga (babak final) alias menjadi finalis New Seven Wonders of Nature.

Bersama 28 finalis lainnya, Pulau Komodo atau tepatnya Taman Nasional Komodo (Komodo National Park) ditetapkan sebagai finalis dalam ajang pemilihan New 7 Wonders of Nature ini pada hari Selasa 21 Juli 2009 oleh New 7 Wonders Foundation.

Sebagai informasi, saya kutip dari situsnya, berikut ini adalah tiga tahapan sejak awal proses nominasi sampai tahap final sekarang.

When will the New7Wonders of Nature be declared? What are the stages of the election?

There are three stages in the New7Wonders of Nature campaign: the National Qualification, the Nomination stage and the Finalist stage:

1. On 1 January 2009, only one national nominee per country will be allowed to proceed: the highest ranked in the voting on 31 December 2008. Therefore until the end of 2008, countries with more than one nominee will be racing to choose the national representative that is allowed to continue into 2009. Nominees shared by more than one country will remain and continue into 2009.
2. In the Nomination stage, voting for nominees will continue through July 7, 2009. Then the New7Wonders of Nature Panel of Experts, under the leadership of Prof. Federico Mayor, former Director-General of UNESCO, will review the top 77 nominees and choose the 21 finalists, to be announced on 21 July 2009.
3. For the Finalist stage, the 21 New7Wonders of Nature Finalists will be put to popular vote in July 2009. Voting will continue throughout 2010 and into 2011. During this time, the New7Wonders World Tour will visit each of the Finalists to allow them to present themselves to the voters across the globe.

The final declaration of the New7Wonders of Nature will be in 2011.

Sekarang telah memasuki tahap ketiga atau final, dan Pulau Komodo masuk sebagai salah satu finalis. Walaupun pada kutipan di atas disebut 21 finalis, kenyataannya sekarang jumlah finalis menjadi  28, entah karena apa, no problemo

Ranking Pulau Komodo di New 7 Wonders of Nature

Sampai dengan saya membuat tulisan ini, seperti terlihat pada gambar di atas, ranking Pulau Komodo berada di kelompok kedua dari 2 kelompok finalis (ranking 15-28). Jadi, memang masih perlu dukungan lebih banyak lagi.

Pada tahap final ini, ada dua metoda yang dapat dilakukan untuk menyampaikan dukungan, cara pertama dengan melakukan phone dial (vote by telephone), dan cara kedua dengan melakukan pemilihan online via internet. Berikut ini saya campaikan cara/proses melakukan voting untuk kedua metoda ini.

1. Vote by telephone

Untuk pemilihan dengan phone dial, silahkan anda tekan/hubungi nomor  SLI +41 77 312 4041, dimana kemudian akan terdengar beberapa pesan pembuka. Setelah pesan selesai dan terdengar bunyi beep, tekan kode 7717 untuk memilih Taman Nasional Komodo (Komodo National Park). Bila ada pesan “thank you“, berarti anda sukses melakukan vote. Selesai. Segera tutup teleponnya

2. Vote online via internet.

Untuk pemilihan secara online via internet, voting dilakukan di alamat situs http://www.new7wonders.com. Ketika memasuki situs tersebut, kita dihadapkan pada tampilan 28 finalis, dan kita dipersilahkan memilih tujuh finalis sebagai calon yang kita unggulkan.
